Critterville Playground

The walking path here is genuinely one of the better ones in Tazewell County — smooth, easy, and you get those views of the water that make the whole loop worth doing. Kids have plenty to keep them busy too, with the playground covering toddlers all the way up to older kids who’d rather kick a ball around on the fields. Restrooms on site, which sounds like a small thing until you’ve got a five-year-old doing the dance. A lot of locals have been coming here since they were kids themselves, and you can kind of feel that in how well the place is kept up. Good spot for a Saturday morning when you just want to get outside without driving far.
