Signal Knob Playground

Locals have been pretty happy with what they’ve done to this spot over the last couple of years — the upgrades are noticeable and they’ve clearly put some thought into it. There’s play equipment broken out by age group, so the little ones aren’t getting run over by bigger kids, plus swings and a tire swing that the kids around here genuinely fight over. You’ve got restrooms, picnic tables, and shaded seating, which sounds basic but makes a real difference when you’re out there for a few hours on a hot Shenandoah Valley afternoon. The walking path winds near the water, and with the open grass field and a pond nearby, there’s enough space that everyone can spread out and do their own thing. Good for families with kids anywhere from babies up to about 12 — it holds their attention.
