Five Mile Lake Park

If you haven’t made the trip out to this Auburn gem yet, you’re missing out. The climbing structure keeps kids genuinely busy while you grab a shaded bench and actually relax for once — the mature trees do serious work on a hot summer day. It sits right near the lake, so after the playground you can wander down to the water, and the open grass field gives older kids room to run off whatever energy the climbing didn’t burn. There’s a basketball court if your group skews older, and the walking path loops through a setting that feels more like the edge of a forest than a city park. Restrooms, picnic tables, parking — it’s all here, and it’s the kind of place locals quietly keep to themselves.
