Lake Sammamish State Park Playground

If you live on the Eastside and haven’t spent a Saturday here yet, you’re missing out. The playground has slides, swings, and a zipline that keeps kids busy long enough for adults to actually relax at a picnic table — and the shaded seating under the trees makes that genuinely possible even in summer. It’s maybe a two-minute walk from the beach, so older kids can migrate to the water while the little ones (the setup works well down to age 2) stick to the play area. Pack your own charcoal because the BBQ area fills up fast on weekends, and parking gets competitive by mid-morning in July.
