Totem Lake Playground

If you live on the east side and haven’t been to Totem Lake yet, you’re missing out. The climbing structure is genuinely the star here — it’s the kind that actually challenges kids rather than boring them after five minutes, and the soft turf underneath means toddlers can take a tumble without drama. Slides and swings round things out, so there’s enough to keep multiple ages busy at the same time. The restrooms are clean (and consistently so, which isn’t something you can say about every Kirkland park), and there’s solid parking plus picnic tables if you want to make an afternoon of it. The lake nearby makes for a nice little walk after playtime winds down.
