If you’re spending time in Cable, this spot is worth going out of your way for. The natural play setup feels like it was designed by someone who actually wanted kids to use their imaginations — climbing structures, slides, and the kind of setting that backs right up to the forest. The Story Walk is a nice touch, especially for younger kids in the 3-5 range, but older kids up to 13 find plenty to keep them busy too. Shade trees and covered picnic tables make it easy to hang around for a while, and the restrooms are a genuine bonus when you’re out this far. Bonus points for trail access — you can tack on a walk before or after without moving the car.
