If you’re local to Kendal, you probably already know about this one. It catches the sun really well, which makes a difference on those grey Cumbrian days, and the views from the hill are genuinely worth the walk up. Nothing flashy, but the equipment is kept in decent nick and the atmosphere is relaxed — the kind of place you can actually unwind while the kids run about. Handy location too, which means it gets used properly rather than just sitting there looking pretty.
