Laurel Park Playground

If you haven’t been to Laurel Park yet, you’re missing one of Reading’s better-kept secrets. The lake is the real draw — swans, geese, ducks doing their thing year-round — and it sits right alongside a proper nature reserve with trails that actually feel like you’ve left the town behind. There’s a football pitch and plenty of open grass for kids to run around on, plus benches near the water if you just want to sit and watch the birds for a bit. Parking’s easy enough, and the walking path loops things together nicely whether you’re after a quick jog or a slow wander with the family. Goes well with any age group, honestly.
