Silchester Playground

Good spot for little ones — the climbing structure and slides are scaled just right for the under-5s without being overwhelming. Pack a picnic because the open grass field is genuinely one of the better ones in the area, plenty of room for kids to just run while the adults actually sit down for five minutes. There’s parking on site which makes life easier, and the soccer field gives older siblings something to do if they tag along. What really makes it worth the trip is the access to Silchester Common and Pamber Forest right nearby — easy walking, proper trees, the kind of thing that tires toddlers out in the best way.
