If you just need somewhere clean and low-key to let the kids run around, Parnell Heights Reserve does the job well. The open grass field is genuinely well-kept — not the patchy, muddy kind you find at half the reserves around Palmerston North. It’s pretty no-frills, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The staff clearly take pride in keeping the place tidy, and it shows.
