Maliyan Park, Watson Playground

Watson locals have been pretty happy with this one since it opened. The Ngunnawal cultural design gives it a real sense of place — this isn’t just another cookie-cutter suburban playground, and the kids pick up on that. Swings and tunnels keep the little ones busy while the shade trees and covered seating mean parents can actually sit comfortably for more than ten minutes. The open grass field is decent sized, good for a kick around or just letting dogs and toddlers do their thing, and the walking path loops it all together nicely. Picnic tables make it worth packing lunch.
