That zipline alone is worth the drive out to Hodge Park — kids line up for it repeatedly and it delivers every time. The whole play area is fenced in with a turf and wood chip surface, which stays cleaner than most KC playgrounds and gives parents a clear sightline no matter where they’re standing. Slides and a solid climbing structure round things out, so there’s genuinely something for the 2-year-olds and the 10-year-olds at the same time. Shade trees and covered seating make the summer heat manageable, and the restrooms are actually maintained. If your crew wants to stretch the visit, the walking trails that push back toward the wooded area are right there waiting.
