Read Place Playground

Shaded almost all day thanks to some seriously good tree coverage, this little spot in Evatt punches above its weight for a suburban playground. There’s slides and swings to keep the 3-12 crowd busy, and the picnic tables make it easy to actually sit down and eat without balancing food on your lap. Parking is right there, which parents will appreciate. The real drawcard is the setting — Ginninderra Creek and a nearby pond give it more of a nature feel than your average cookie-cutter suburb park, and bigger kids tend to roam a bit further to explore. Worth knowing about if you’re in the area and want somewhere that doesn’t feel completely exposed on a hot day.
