Bales Park Playground

The play train is the obvious drawcard here — little kids absolutely lose it for that thing. It’s a solid little park for the toddler crowd, with swings, a slide, sandpit, and a climbing structure that won’t intimidate a 3-year-old. The whole thing is fenced, which makes a real difference if you’ve got a runner, and the free BBQs with picnic tables mean you can actually make a proper afternoon of it. Shade trees keep it bearable in summer, and the recent renovation shows — everything feels clean and in good nick. Locals with kids under 5 basically have this place on rotation.
