Berry Island Reserve Playground

Most locals treat Berry Island as their secret — it’s got harbour views, bush trails, and a decent playground all in the one spot, which is pretty hard to beat in this part of Sydney. The kids can work through the slides, swings, and climbing structure while you scope out a BBQ for lunch, and nobody’s rushing anyone along. There’s a short bushwalk loop that takes you past Aboriginal rock carvings, so it’s genuinely worth doing rather than just sitting at the picnic table the whole time. Good for toddlers through to older kids who want to range a bit further on the trails.
