Airlie’s Playground

One of the better-kept secrets along the Bayside, this spot has a really lovely wooden play structure that actually looks like someone put some thought into it — not just the usual plastic stuff you see everywhere. The sandbox is massive, so bring a change of clothes if your kids are anything like mine. It’s fully enclosed, which takes a lot of the stress out of visits with younger ones, and the sightlines are good enough that you can actually sit at the picnic tables without craning your neck every five seconds. Toilets are clean, which honestly isn’t something you can say about every park around here. Chuck in the open grass area and the beach nearby and you’ve genuinely got a full afternoon sorted.
