Pelican Boardwalk

Honestly, this one’s more of a chill-out spot than a traditional playground, but don’t let that put you off bringing the kids. The boardwalk itself is the drawcard — there’s an art installation that gives the whole place a bit of personality, and the ocean breeze off the bay makes it feel like a proper escape from the suburbs. Lota doesn’t get nearly enough credit as a waterside destination, and this little stretch is a good reason to change that. Best visited when you want somewhere quiet to slow down rather than burn off energy.
