Barrington Park Playground – South

If you’ve got a toddler, this is genuinely one of the better spots in Christchurch to burn an afternoon. The sand area alone keeps kids occupied for ages — there’s a bucket pulley and conveyor belt setup that even adults find weirdly satisfying to mess around with. Beyond that you’ve got swings, a merry-go-round, climbing structure, musical equipment, and a walkable seesaw, so there’s enough variety that kids aren’t fighting over the same thing. It’s also properly accessible for wheelchair users and kids with disabilities, which isn’t something every playground gets right. Chuck in the soccer field, parking on-site, and the library and shops nearby, and it’s an easy one to recommend to pretty much any family in the area.
