Scarborough Park

Right on the Esplanade in Sumner, this one’s hard to beat for a casual weekend outing. The coastal views are genuinely great — you’re looking out over the water while the kids do their thing, which makes the whole trip feel worthwhile even if you just end up sitting on the grass. The Scarborough Clock Tower is right there too, and there are cafes close enough that grabbing a coffee isn’t a mission. It’s the kind of spot locals have been coming to for years, and you can see why.
