Hot Hastings summers hit different, and the splash pad here is genuinely one of the better ones in the region for keeping kids cool without a full trip to the beach. The climbing structure gets a solid workout from the under-10 crowd, and there’s a good mix of swings that actually accommodates a range of ages rather than just the littlest ones. It’s quieter than you’d expect for a park this well set up — not a lot of through-traffic, so you can actually hear yourself think while the kids do their thing. Shade trees, picnic tables, clean bathrooms, and parking that doesn’t require a 10-minute walk — it’s all there. Bring lunch and plan to stay a while.
