Highland Park Reserve Playground

Mosgiel doesn’t have a tonne of standout playgrounds, but this one’s worth knowing about. It’s relatively new, so the equipment’s still in good nick, and the whole reserve has that well-kept feel you don’t always find in quieter suburban spots. There’s a solid mix of activity stations alongside a big open grass area — handy if you’ve got kids who just want to kick a ball around on the soccer field rather than queue for the slide. Picnic tables and shade trees make it easy to actually sit and relax while you’re there, and parents get decent sightlines across the whole space. It’s rarely crowded, which is honestly the main appeal — you can show up on a weekend and not feel like you’re fighting for a park.
