Lions’ Park

Right on the edge of Lake Te Anau, this spot has that classic small-town park feel that locals actually use rather than just drive past. The playground is straightforward — slides and swings — but honestly that’s all you need when the lake views are doing most of the heavy lifting. Kids can burn energy on the equipment while adults claim a picnic table and stare at the Fiordland mountains doing their thing in the background. Toilets and parking are right there, which makes a real difference when you’re wrangling little ones. The open grass field gives older kids room to roam, and the whole setup works for pretty much any age group.
