Swansfield Park is one of those spots in Alnwick that locals genuinely rate, and it’s not hard to see why. The play area itself is well-kept — proper soft surfacing underfoot, solid climbing structure, slides and swings that actually get used rather than sit rusting. Parents can sit on the benches and keep an eye on things easily, which makes a difference. Beyond the fenced play area there’s a bike track and a decent stretch of open grass, so older kids aren’t left with nothing to do while the little ones play. Free parking on-site, shade from the trees on warmer days — it’s the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned.
