The Lower Leas Coastal Park

If you’re local to Folkestone, you already know the Lower Leas is one of those places you end up at more weekends than you plan to. The playground keeps kids busy with slides and a zipline, and the coastal views mean you’re not exactly suffering while you wait around. There’s a bike track and open grass for burning off energy, plus walking paths that wind down toward the beach and out toward the trails — genuinely good for a proper half-day out. Grab a coffee from the café, use the loos, and let the little ones (best suited to ages 2–12) do their thing. It’s not flashy, but it earns its reputation as one of the better family spots on this stretch of coast.
