Lakeside playground

Gets pretty busy on weekends, especially in summer when the ice cream van shows up — so if you’re coming with little ones, earlier in the day is the move. The play train is the big hit with the under-5s, though the climbing structure keeps the older kids occupied while you actually get to sit down for five minutes. Picnic tables are right there if you want to bring lunch, and there’s parking nearby which makes life a lot easier with a pushchair. The lake adds a nice bit of scenery for a post-play wander along the walking path — it’s one of those spots where you can easily stretch an hour into an afternoon.
