Arboretum playground

If you know Lincoln at all, the Arboretum is one of those spots locals keep coming back to — and the playground is a big part of why. The climbing structure gets a proper workout from kids who aren’t ready to leave, and the slides are solid enough to keep the 3-year-olds happy without boring the older ones. You’ve got shade trees doing actual work on hot days, and sightlines are good so you’re not constantly chasing after anyone. The pond nearby adds a nice bit of atmosphere, and the open grass field means there’s room to properly run about after. Parking’s available, so it’s one of the easier spots in the city to actually get to without a fuss.
