Hinksey Playground

Down by the lake in South Hinksey Park, this one punches well above its weight for a neighbourhood playground. The bucket pulley is the star of the show — kids will queue up for it repeatedly while you actually get a minute to breathe. You’ve got the usual slides, swings, and climbing frame, but the sandbox adds a proper layer of mess and fun that little ones go absolutely mad for. Toilets and baby changing are on site, parking’s just nearby, and there’s open grass when someone inevitably needs to burn off whatever energy is left. The pond and duck situation right next door is a genuine bonus, especially if you want to stretch the trip into a proper afternoon out.
