If you’re after somewhere to take the kids that doesn’t feel like you’re crammed in with half of Preston, this is a solid pick. The water feature keeps younger ones entertained while older kids have proper open grass to run around on — always a bonus. There’s decent shade from the mature trees on warmer days, and the walking path loops you past the pond, which is genuinely lovely if you catch it on a calm morning. Toilets, picnic tables, and parking all sorted, so you’re not scrambling. The trails nearby mean you can stretch the visit out into something more of a proper half-day if the kids need tiring out.
