Doward Park Campsite

Tucked right on the edge of the Forest of Dean, this campsite’s play area punches above its weight for a site this size. Kids get swings, a climbing structure, and a sandbox — enough to keep the 2–12 crowd genuinely busy while you sit at one of the picnic tables and actually relax. The whole area is enclosed, shaded by proper trees, and clean in a way that tells you someone here actually cares. Trails lead straight out into the woods if the older ones need more room to roam, and the open grass field handles everything from football to just running off excess energy. Honestly, for a woodland camping trip with young kids, it’s hard to beat.
