Burghley Gardens & Adventure Play

If you’re local and haven’t taken the kids to the Gardens of Surprise yet, you’re genuinely missing out. The mirror maze alone is worth the trip — kids absolutely lose their minds in there, and honestly so do some of the adults. There are sculptures dotted throughout that keep everyone moving and curious, plus plenty of open grass if someone just needs to run around for a bit. Shade trees, picnic tables, restrooms — it’s all there, so you can actually stay for a proper afternoon rather than a rushed hour. It’s on the Burghley Estate grounds, which gives the whole thing a bit of a grand backdrop that you don’t really get at your average park.
