Fort Douglas Adventure Park

Fort Douglas is one of those places locals keep coming back to because it genuinely works for kids across a wide age range — the little ones are happy in the sandbox or on the play train while older kids are queuing up for the zipline and climbing structure. The slides are a proper highlight, and the treehouses give it that extra bit of character you don’t find at every park. It’s enclosed, which takes the edge off for parents, and there’s decent shade and picnic tables so you can actually settle in for a few hours without losing your mind. For what you pay, it’s hard to fault — Dalkeith families are pretty lucky to have it on the doorstep.
