Locals know Bailey Park is one of the better spots in Abergavenny for kids around that 6-7 age sweet spot — the climbing frame keeps them genuinely busy while you grab a bench in the shade and actually relax for a bit. The enclosed play area means you’re not constantly chasing anyone toward the road, which makes a real difference. There’s a solid football pitch and plenty of open grass if they need to burn off more energy after the climbing structure. Toilets on site, parking nearby, picnic tables if you want to make a proper afternoon of it — it’s got the basics covered without any fuss. The views from the park are a nice bonus too, very much that classic Welsh countryside backdrop you don’t really get tired of.
