Elderberry Park

Honestly one of the better-kept secrets right on the downtown waterfront — the views of Cook Inlet from here are the real draw, and on a clear day you can see Denali if you’re lucky. The climbing structure keeps kids busy while adults claim a bench and actually decompress for a few minutes. It connects straight to the Coastal Trail, so bring the bikes if you’ve got them; the bike track and walking path make it easy to turn a playground visit into a proper outing. The water feature is a solid bonus for the younger ones, and the picnic tables mean you can stretch the visit out. Small park, yes, but it punches above its weight for a downtown Anchorage stop.
