Mohn Park

If you haven’t taken your kids to Mohn Park yet, you’re missing out on one of Rochester’s better-kept secrets. The play area has this great timber-style climbing structure along with musical instruments built right into the pathway — my kids will spend a solid 20 minutes just banging on those things. Come summer, the shallow sand beach on Cascade Lake is genuinely perfect for little ones who aren’t quite ready for deep water, and the whole setup feels calm and unhurried in a way that bigger parks just don’t. Stroller-friendly walking and biking paths loop around the lake, so it’s easy to make a full morning of it. Parking is right there, the forest trails are close if you want to stretch your legs further, and the whole vibe is just low-key neighborhood park done really well.
