Freedom Park

If you’re into BMX, this is genuinely one of the better spots in the area — the track is well-kept and the staff and volunteers are actually helpful if you’re just getting started. The baseball fields see a lot of use and they’re maintained well enough that you won’t be complaining about the conditions. Bring the dog too, because the dog park has real shade and decent grass, which isn’t something you can say about every dog park around here. The walking paths wind through a nice stretch of trees, and if you’re into plane watching, the setting makes for a surprisingly relaxing afternoon. Parking is easy and there’s shade to retreat to, so it holds up even on a hot day.
