Lunken Playfield

If you haven’t taken the kids out to Lunken yet, you’re missing one of Cincinnati’s better kept secrets. The enclosed play area keeps the little ones contained while you actually relax at a shaded picnic table — and yes, planes from the airfield land close enough that kids completely lose their minds over it. There’s a bike track, soccer field, and open grass for when everyone needs to burn off energy in different directions, which makes it genuinely useful for groups with mixed ages and interests. Trails connect out toward the woods and a nearby pond, so you can extend the trip if the weather’s cooperating. Restrooms on site, decent shade throughout — it’s the kind of place you end up staying three hours longer than planned.
