Friendly Park

One of those parks that feels like it hasn’t tried to reinvent itself, and honestly that’s the whole appeal. The merry-go-round alone makes it worth the trip — you just don’t see those much anymore. Kids go straight for the sandbox and water pump combo, and they’ll stay there for an hour easy. The shade trees actually do their job here, which anyone who’s survived an Oregon summer knows matters more than it sounds. Quiet street, open grass to run around on, neighbors who actually say hi — it’s got that low-key community feel that’s hard to manufacture.
