If you live on the west side and haven’t taken your kids to Rood Bridge yet, you’re missing out on one of Hillsboro’s best kept secrets. The playground is legitimately large — climbing structures, slides, a water feature — the kind of setup that actually tires kids out. Pack a lunch because the BBQ and picnic areas are solid, and there’s plenty of shaded seating so you’re not just standing in the sun watching them play. Beyond the playground, the walking paths wind out toward the Tualatin River and ponds, so it transitions naturally into a nice nature walk once everyone’s ready to explore.
