Willamalane Park

Springfield locals know this one well, and for good reason — Willamalane pulls together more than most parks manage to. The skate park gets real use from beginners and experienced skaters alike, and the climbing structure keeps younger kids busy while parents actually get to sit in the shade and watch without squinting into the sun. There’s a sandbox for the toddlers, a basketball court, open grass for whatever you want to throw or kick around, and a soft walking path that edges close enough to the trees to feel like a trail. Picnic tables are well-placed, the shade trees are mature and actually do their job, and the whole place is kept noticeably clean. It’s the kind of park you end up at for an hour and leave two hours later.
