10th & South Playground

If you want to actually hear yourself think for once, this little spot on the edge of the city delivers. The open grass field is genuinely one of the better ones in Reading — wide enough that kids can get a real kite up without fighting trees or power lines. There are a couple basketball rims for shooting around, nothing fancy, but they get the job done. What makes it worth the trip is how the park backs up toward the woods, so it feels way less urban than it actually is. Quiet neighborhood, low foot traffic — it’s the kind of place locals keep to themselves for good reason.
