The big live oaks do serious work here — actual shade, not just a couple of scraggly trees — and the shaded seating means you can actually stay a while without melting in the South Carolina heat. Kids gravitate toward the climbing structure, but honestly the pond is the real draw, because those turtles are everywhere and they don’t disappoint. There’s a walking path, a bike track, picnic tables, and a BBQ area, so it’s easy to make a full afternoon of it. Restrooms are clean, parking is easy, and the beach is close enough that you can tack this onto a beach day without much effort.
