Legacy Commons Playground

Locals in Rapid City know this one’s worth the trip — Legacy Commons has enough going on that kids of different ages can actually spread out and do their own thing. The slides work well for the little ones, and the equipment has some local character to it that you don’t see at every cookie-cutter park. Padded surfaces are a nice touch, especially if you’ve got toddlers who are still figuring out the whole balance thing. Grab a picnic table, let the kids run, and if you feel like moving yourself, the walking path gives you somewhere to go besides standing around watching. It handles the 2-to-adult crowd better than most spots in the area.
