Lower Sherman Park Playground

If you’ve got little ones and you’re anywhere near the zoo, this spot basically sells itself. The climbing structure, slides, and swings are sized just right for toddlers and younger elementary kids — nothing too intimidating, nothing too babyish. Shade trees and covered seating actually make a difference on a hot South Dakota afternoon, and the picnic tables get a lot of use from families who pack a lunch and make a whole day of it. Restrooms are clean, parking is easy, and that open grass field means kids can just run until they’re done. Honestly one of the better-kept playgrounds on this side of Sioux Falls.
