Kidd Springs Park Playground

Kidd Springs is one of those parks where you can easily burn a whole afternoon without even planning to. The playground has solid equipment for kids 2-12 — slides, swings, a climbing structure — and there’s a water feature that tends to be a hit on hot Dallas days, which is basically most of the year. When the kids need a break, you’ve got shaded seating and benches nearby, and the duck pond is right there for some low-key wildlife watching. The Japanese garden adds something a little different to the whole experience, and the walking trails through the wooded sections feel surprisingly removed from the city. Restrooms on site, basketball court if older kids want to run, and two separate playground areas means it rarely feels too crowded.
