Fritz Park Shelter

Fritz Park Shelter is one of those low-key spots that locals seem to keep to themselves, and honestly, good — it means the picnic tables are almost always open. The shade trees do serious work here, which matters a lot when you’re in Irving and it’s 95 degrees before noon. Kids in the 2-10 range will find plenty to do with the slides, and parents can actually sit somewhere comfortable and not melt. The walking path right nearby makes it easy to stretch your legs after lunch without loading everyone back in the car. It’s nothing flashy, but that’s kind of the whole point.
