Battery Park Playground

Right on the edge of the bluff overlooking Lake Champlain, this playground punches way above its weight for a city park. The climbing structure and slides keep kids busy, and the merry-go-round is one of those old-school touches you don’t see everywhere anymore. Toddlers especially do well here — the setup is scaled in a way that doesn’t leave the little ones stranded while older siblings hog the good stuff. Grab a bench, catch the lake views, and if a food truck is parked nearby (which happens more than you’d think), you’ve basically got lunch covered too. It’s a solid urban playground with a backdrop most suburban parks would kill for.
