Calahan Park Playground

If your kid is past the baby swings stage and actually wants a challenge, this is the spot. The climbing structure is built with natural materials — wood, ropes, the whole deal — so it feels less like a plastic playground and more like something worth actually conquering. Kids in the 6-12 range especially get a lot out of it, though younger ones around 3 or 4 can still find their footing. It’s an urban park, so don’t expect a ton of sprawling green space, but the play structure itself is the draw here. Burlington has plenty of more polished options, but Calahan has a scrappier, more satisfying energy to it.
