Honestly, this is one of those parks where you can actually relax a little — the whole play area is fenced in, so you’re not chasing kids toward the parking lot every five minutes. There’s a solid mix of equipment for the 2-12 crowd: slides, swings, a climbing structure, seesaw, and a sandbox that little ones will not want to leave. When you need a break, the shaded picnic tables do the job, especially on those humid Richmond afternoons. The basketball court and soccer field mean older kids have somewhere to burn energy too, and the open grass field is big enough for a proper pickup game or just running laps for no reason. It’s a genuinely easy half-day outing — bring lunch and you’re set.
