Genesee Park and Playfield

Genesee is one of those parks where you can actually spread out — big open grass fields, a solid soccer setup, and enough shade trees that you’re not baking on a summer afternoon. The walking path loops around nicely, and with the lake nearby, the views make it worth the trip even if you’re just passing through. Locals bring their dogs out here constantly, and there’s a real off-leash area that regulars swear by. Picnic tables, restrooms, shaded seating — it’s got the basics covered without feeling like a zoo. Honestly one of the better spots in southeast Seattle if you want green space without a crowd.
