Bhy Kracke Park

Few people outside of Eastlake seem to know this place exists, which is honestly part of what makes it great. The views from up top — Seattle skyline, Lake Union, Mount Rainier on a clear day — are the kind that stop you mid-sentence. Getting there involves some steep paths, so keep that in mind if you’ve got little ones in tow, but the climbing structure and open grass at the bottom of the hill give toddlers and early elementary kids plenty to do while you catch your breath. Picnic tables and shade trees mean you can actually settle in for a while instead of just passing through. Bring lunch, skip the crowds, and don’t tell too many people about it.
